5:01:40 PM Screpis unhappy at Hearts exit
Hearts' Argentine midfielder Fernando Screpis claims the club have cancelled his contract, despite agreeing a three-and-a-half year deal a year ago. New Tynecastle manager Csaba Laszlo is reducing his playing squad and Screpis appears to be an early casualty. Screpis told the Evening News: "I am sad to leave but I don't think I was given enough chances in the team. I don't think I was treated fairly. "The new manager only saw me play for less than 40 minutes." In his first season at Hearts, Screpis made just five appearances and was a second-half substitute against Glentoran, Laszlo's first match in charge.
Screpis travelled south to turn out as a trialist for Plymouth Argyle in their 2-2 draw with Kidderminster last Friday. However, Pilgrims manager Paul Sturrock decided his fitness levels weren't at the required level for the Championship side.
