Linfield striker Peter Thompson is set to remain at Windsor Park next season after an improved bid from SPL side Kilmarnock was turned down.

Killie's offer, believed to be around £150,000, is well short of the Linfield's valuation of Thompson.

Andrew Drivers' agent will meet with Hearts officials next week to discuss the winger's future following summer interest from other clubs.

Burnley have rejected suggestions that they are about to make a third offer for the 20-year-old likely to be in the region of £1m.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor
McGregor's injury saw him miss the Uefa Cup final

Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been given permission to return to full training after recovering from ankle and knee injuries.

The 26-year-old has not played since sustaining damage to his ankle during an Old Firm defeat in April.

During his absence, McGregor underwent an operation to cure a knee problem.
