The date for the first leg of Rangers' Champions League second qualifying round tie with either Santa Coloma or FBK Kaunas has been set.

Walter Smith's side will host their opponents at Ibrox on Wednesday 30 July in Rangers' first match of the season.

The date for the second leg will be confirmed after the tie between Coloma and Kaunas has been decided.

Hearts' owner Vladimir Romanov says the club are still some way from appointing a new manager and that the new man in charge is unlikely to be Scottish.

Pat McCourt got a dream move to Scottish Premier champions Celtic

Nigel Worthington has hinted that new Celtic signing Pat McCourt will be in Northern Ireland's squad for the 20 August friendly against Scotland.

SFA chief executive Gordon Smith wants views on prices

The Scottish Football Association is asking the Tartan Army if they are prepared to pay top ticket prices to bring Argentina to Hampden.

A match scheduled for 19 November is under discussion between the SFA and agents for the Argentine FA.

Top price for a competitive Scotland match is £35 while the cost of a ticket for Northern Ireland's friendly visit to Hampden in August is £20.

Warren Feeney in action for Northern Ireland
Feeney has scored twice for his country in 14 appearances

Dundee United have completed the signing of Cardiff City striker Warren Feeney on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old will team up with fellow Cardiff player Willo Flood, who will spend a second season on loan at Tannadice next season.
