Scottish Premier League grounds must be all-seater

A group of football fans has launched a bid to overturn the ban on standing areas at Scottish Premier League football stadiums.

A petition, which was organised by fans of Dunfermline Athletic, is being considered in the Scottish Parliament.

Chisholm led Queens to the Scottish Cup final last season

Queen of the South chairman David Rae has refused Dundee permission to speak to the club's manager Gordon Chisholm.

Dundee are seeking a successor to Alex Rae, who was sacked last week. But Rae said Chisholm told him he was happy to remain at Palmerston.

Annan Athletic got off to a dream start by thrashing Cowdenbeath at Central Park in their first senior league game.

Paul McQuade had put the hosts in front after 16 minutes by chipping Craig Summersgill from the edge of the box.

Annan levelled on 29 minutes through a Mike Jack penalty when Kevin Neilson was impeded before Jack volleyed number two three minutes into the second half.

Steven Archibald's scrambled goal made it 3-1 and Darren Johnstone netted a fourth from just inside the area.

Chris Innes left Gretna after the club went into administration

Livingston have signed former Gretna defender Chris Innes.

The 32-year-old looked set to join Dundee earlier this summer after being released by Gretna in March when the club went into administration.

However, the defender has opted to sign a two-year contract with their Irn-Bru First Division rivals.
