Meadow host Arbroath in Scot Cup

Irvine Meadow have been handed a home draw against Arbroath in the third round of the Scottish Cup.

Fellow Ayrshire juniors Auchinleck Talbot will travel to Second Division leaders Stirling Albion if they can overcome Huntly in a replay.

Edinburgh City host Keith and Whitehill Welfare or Threave Rovers will meet Inverurie Loco Works, ensuring at least two non-senior sides will progress.

Brechin City must make the long trip north to face Wick Academy.

Spartans, who can boast a fine recent history in the tournament, host Forfar, while Highland League rivals Deveronvale and Buckie Thistle must replay for the right to host Ayr United.

Cove Rangers, who disposed of Annan Athletic in the previous round, are away to Stenhousemuir.

There is one all-First Division clash, with struggling Airdrie United at home to Queen of the South, who were beaten finalists in 2008.

Scots Cup final tickets allocated

Both semi-finals at Hampden were well below the 52,000 capacity

The Scottish Football Association has revealed the allocation of tickets for the Scottish Cup final.

Rangers have been given 24,890 tickets for the Hampden showpiece on 30 May, while Falkirk received 11,740 tickets with another 3,200 available if needed.

Rangers assistant Ally McCoist is determined to hold on to the trophy

Scottish Cup holders Rangers will meet St Mirren in the semi-finals of this season's tournament.

The other tie will see the SPL's bottom club Falkirk meet either Aberdeen or Dunfermline, who face a replay at Pittodrie on 17 March.

If St Mirren are to reach their first final since winning the cup in 1987, they will have to complete an Old Firm double, having already defeated Celtic.

Homecoming Scottish Cup
The draw for the cup was made at Easter Road after the Edinburgh derby

Falkirk will face Hearts at Tynecastle in the fifth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup in the only all-Scottish Premier League tie of the draw.

Forfar or Forres Mechanics face the prospect of a home tie against St Johnstone or Rangers while Peterhead or Queen's Park will head to Celtic Park.

Aberdeen will play East Fife and Airdrie United take on Dunfermline.

The winner of Sunday's match between East Stirlingshire and Dundee United have an away tie at Hamilton.

Scottish FA President George Peat, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill and former Hibs star Pat Stanton made the draw at Easter Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Homecoming Scottish Cup
The draw for the fifth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup will take place at Hibernian’s Easter Road Stadium on Sunday 11th January, after the club’s
fourth round clash with Edinburgh rivals Heart of Midlothian.

Fifth round ties will be played on Saturday 7th February 2009.

The fourth round Edinburgh derby will be shown live on Sky Sports, during a packed weekend of Homecoming Scottish Cup football. And on Tuesday 13th January, the tie between St Johnstone and Rangers will be shown live on BBC Scotland.

Partick Thistle face a trip to Stirling Albion in the third-round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup.

Forfar host Stranraer and Ross County take on Dumbarton. Clachnacuddin are rewarded for their win over Crichton with a home tie against Stenhousemuir.

Lochee United will aim to take the scalp of Ayr United, while Peterhead have been drawn against Morton. Albion Rovers take on Queen's Park.

The third-round ties will be played on Saturday, 29 November.
