1957-66 Celtic dominate early finals

BBC Sport looks at previous Old Firm finals.

Rangers and Celtic meet at Hampden on Sunday to contest the Co-operative Insurance Cup final.

The Old Firm have met on 12 occasions in the League Cup final and its various guises. Rangers have won on eight occasions and Celtic on four.

In the early Old Firm finals, Celtic had the upper hand, with wins in 1957, 1965 and 1966, while the Ibrox side won the 1964 League Cup final 2-1.

Celtic's most famous victory was the 7-1 hammering of their oldest rivals in 1957.

Old Firm kept apart in cup draw

Scottish League Cup

The Old Firm have been kept apart in the draw for the semi-finals of the Co-operative Insurance Cup.

Holders Rangers will line up against Falkirk, while Celtic face Dundee United for a place in the final.

The draw took place at the Scottish Parliament, where last year the Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson miscalled the ties.

The ties will be played on 27 and 28 January at Hampden, with the final taking place on 15 March.

Cup holders Rangers enter in the third round of the tournament

Last season's beaten finalists Dundee United will travel to Cowdenbeath in the second round of the Scottish Co-operative Insurance Cup.

Hibs are at home to Morton, St Mirren entertain Dumbarton, Hearts take on Airdrie United and Hamilton host Clyde.

Falkirk face a journey to Raith Rovers, Aberdeen are away to Ayr United, Kilmarnock travel to Brechin and Inverness go to Arbroath.

Rangers winger Chris Burke faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday's CIS Insurance Cup final.

Nacho Novo and Charlie Adam are suspended, while Steven Naismith is cup-tied but striker Jean-Claude Darcheville returns to the squad.
