Chris Innes left Gretna after the club went into administration

Livingston have signed former Gretna defender Chris Innes.

The 32-year-old looked set to join Dundee earlier this summer after being released by Gretna in March when the club went into administration.

However, the defender has opted to sign a two-year contract with their Irn-Bru First Division rivals.

Livingston chairman Angelo Massone told the club website: "His experience and professionalism will be a big asset as we seek promotion to the SPL."

Innes, who helped Gretna rise from Division Three to Scotland's top flight after leaving Dundee United, had also been linked with a move to New York Red Bull.
