Dundee United have signed Francesco Sandaza after the 23-year-old Spanish striker left Valencia CF Mastalla.

Sandaza will join the Scottish Premier League club on a three-year contract, subject to international clearance.

Manager Craig Levein said: "It's been well known that I was seeking to bring in two forwards.

"I've been delighted to be able to secure the services of Warren Feeney and now Francesco Sandaza at this early stage of our pre-season schedule."

Feeney arrived on Monday on a season-long loan from Cardiff City.

Now Levein has snapped up Sandaza, who was out of contract after spending six years with Valencia.

The striker, who scored 23 goals last season for Valencia's B team, will travel back to Scotland next week for pre-season training.

"Francesco comes highly recommended by two of my trusted contacts and has been watched many times over the last year," said Levein.
