Milne can play at left-back or in central defence

Scunthorpe United are poised to secure the signature of experienced Falkirk defender Kenny Milne.

The 28-year-old, who has been with the Bairns since arriving from Partick Thistle in 2005, is undergoing a medical with the League One club.

Milne, who began his career with Hearts, has rejected the offer of a new contract from the Scottish Premier League outfit.

He made 31 appearances last season as Falkirk finished in seventh place.

The Irons have also handed a trial to released Manchester United left-back Michael Lea.

Lea, 20, did not make a first team appearance at Old Trafford and spent part of last season on loan at Royal Antwerp.
