Aberdeen have agreed a deal to sign Mark Kerr after he reached the end of his contract at Dundee United. Kerr, who began his career at Falkirk before moving to United in 2003, will sign a two-year contract next week providing he passes a medical. The 26-year-old midfielder is currently on holiday but has committed to joining the Dons after five years with United. Chief executive Lex Gold says he is confident proposals for a second tier of the SPL will be green lit. A Scottish Premier League footballer has been ordered to complete 150 hours of community service for attacking a man at a team-mate's birthday party. Motherwell FC captain Paul Quinn, 22, was earlier convicted at Glasgow Sheriff Court of assaulting Andrew Smith at a nightclub in the city. Celtic striker Derek Riordan could seal a move to Championship side Burnley before the end of the week.
Burnley boss Owen Coyle failed with a £400,000 bid for the former Hibernian player in January and is keen to capture the 25-year-old this summer.
