Dundee United have signed Francesco Sandaza after the 23-year-old Spanish striker left Valencia CF Mastalla.

Sandaza will join the Scottish Premier League club on a three-year contract, subject to international clearance.

Manager Craig Levein said: "It's been well known that I was seeking to bring in two forwards.

"I've been delighted to be able to secure the services of Warren Feeney and now Francesco Sandaza at this early stage of our pre-season schedule."

Linfield striker Peter Thompson is set to remain at Windsor Park next season after an improved bid from SPL side Kilmarnock was turned down.

Killie's offer, believed to be around £150,000, is well short of the Linfield's valuation of Thompson.
