Queen of the South have been rewarded for their first semi-final in more than 50 years with a tie against either Celtic or Aberdeen.

The Doonhamers secured the date after a 2-0 win over Dundee at Palmerston Park.

Meanwhile, the winners of the replay between St Johnstone and St Mirren at Love Street will play Rangers, Hibernian or Partick Thistle.

Hibs meet Rangers at Ibrox in a fifth-round tie with the victors at home to Partick on Wednesday 19 March.

Scottish Cup semi-finals:

St Mirren or St Johnstone v Rangers or Hibernian or Partick Thistle

Queen of the South v Aberdeen or Celtic.

Games to be played on 12/13 April at venues to be confirmed.

Queen of the South went through to their first Scottish Cup semi-final since 1950 with a narrow win over Dundee at Palmerston Park.

It was a scrappy first half with striker Stephen Dobbie going closest for Queens when he shot just wide.

The game sparked into life when Queen's goalkeeper Jamie McDonald's clearance found Dobbie before finished clinically in the 52nd minute.

Ryan McCann shot astonishingly from inside his own half to seal the win.

It was a disappointing afternoon for the Taysiders, who will now concentrate solely on their chase for the First Division title, while Gordon Chisholm's men can bask in their achievement of reaching the semis.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has spoken out against the possibility of the Old Firm moving to England's top flight.

The idea of Celtic and Rangers moving down south has often been mooted but world football's governing body would not endorse it.

"It would be detrimental to Scotland if the two best teams leave to try and play in England," he told BBC Sport.

"It is also good for the political aspects that the British Associations keep their different leagues."

Blatter and his Uefa counterpart Michel Platini are in Scotland for the International Football Association Board meeting in Gleneagles.

And Blatter has promised to hear Scottish FA chief executive Gordon Smith's proposals to make use of video evidence to punish players for diving.
