The 27-year-old, who joined Celtic in 2005, was this weekend linked with moves to both Arsenal and AC Milan.
But he told arturboruc.com: "I am very grateful to the Celtic management for putting their trust in me.
"That's why I accepted the new contract offered to me and I have extended it for three more years."
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell confirmed the deal for the player first signed from Legia Warszawa.
"Talks have been ongoing for a while and we are delighted that Artur has decided to sign," he told BBC Sport.
Celtic had themselves been linked with an interest in Major League Soccer goalkeeper of the year Brad Guzan, the 24-year-old presently with Chivas USA.
Meanwhile, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan had been in touch with Boruc's representatives to discuss a possible future deal.
Milan goalkeeper Dida has been out of sorts.
And, although Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he trusts the Brazilian, the club have repeatedly been linked with goalkeepers in the past month.
Boruc's name figured constantly, having impressed on Champions League duty in matches against the European champions.
But veteran Milan defender Paolo Maldini insisted the club's players are right behind 34-year-old Dida and his fellow Brazilian, Ronaldo, who has struggled badly with injury this season."Dida and Ronaldo? I don't think that we can talk about a period of crisis for either of them," said Maldini.
