Fitzpatrick's Love Street memories

St Mirren Park in Paisley's Love Street will host its final game on Saturday before the club move to a new stadium in the town's Ferguslie area

Few people are as closely associated with St Mirren than Tony Fitzpatrick and the former player, captain and manager will find Saturday's match against Motherwell particularly emotional.

The visit of Well marks Saints' final match at their old self-titled ground, which will forever be remembered simply as 'Love Street'.

MacPherson too move for Harkins



St Mirren are reportedly interested in signing Partick Thistle midfielder Gary Harkins, who is also a target for Aberdeen.

The 23-year-old midfielder has caught the eye of Saints boss Gus MacPherson who could make a move in January.

Harkins was apparently a target for MacPherson last summer but opted to stay with the Scottish Division One side.

Saints will need to pay a fee to acquire his services and Aberdeen have also been heavily linked with the youngster.

The Ibrox Stadium disaster happened today in 1971, when 66 supporters were killed on stairway 13. The disaster led to the rebuilding of Ibrox Park as an all seater stadium.

Loan Rangers' future in balance

Gow and Webster have had contrasting experiences in English football

Rangers manager Walter Smith will decide this month if Andy Webster and Alan Gow have a future at Ibrox after their return from spells on loan.

Defender Webster and forward Gow were shipped out along with several younger players, including midfielder Dean Furman, to find first-team football.

But Smith hinted that some were nearing the end of their time with Rangers.
