Wigan say Andy Webster has made a permanent switch to Rangers | Andy Webster has completed a permanent move to Rangers from Wigan Athletic. The 26-year-old defender was loaned out to the Ibrox side in January 2007, just five months after moving to the Premier League club. Previously, Webster made transfer history by using Fifa legislation to terminate his contract at Hearts to move to the Latics. His progress has since been halted by a series of injuries and he underwent a hernia operation three weeks ago. Webster has made just four appearances in the Premier League since joining Wigan in 2006. During his time on loan at Rangers he started just one game, scoring against Gretna in an SPL fixture last September. He has signed a contract to keep him at Ibrox until the summer of 2011.
